GasTips.Com Reputation System

Anyone can use gastips.com to see the latest prices in their city. If you sign up for a free account, you can gain access to more functionality, such as low and high price notification and establishing a profile and being able to earn reputation.

Here are the major ways to get reputation:
  • Enter a new gas price (10 points)
  • Confirm a gas price (entering one into the system that is already recorded) (5 points)
  • Vote Up a gas price (1 point)
  • Vote Down a gas price (this is meant to remove invalid prices) (2 points)
  • a tip you entered is deleted (-20 points)
Here are some rules around voting:
  • You cannot confirm your own tip
  • You cannot vote up or down your own tip
  • Tips are deleted when 4 users vote them down
  • You can only vote down when you have over 100 reputation
  • You cannot submit more then two prices, per fuel type, per station, per day
